How it works

From “nobody's free” to plans in minutes

Pick a place you like, choose a time and meet a friendly local there.

  1. Step 1

    Pick something to do

Coffee and chat, a walk, language exchange, board games or a museum. Each activity shows the place, how long it takes and the price, and you can look around without an account.

  2. Step 2

    Request a time

Choose a day and a time that suits you. You and the host both agree to the same simple house rules, and your card is only held until you've met.

  3. Step 3

    Meet up and enjoy it

Meet at the place and swap PINs to start. When you're done and you've both left feedback, the payment goes through.

FAQ

Coffee and chat: questions

Who pays for the coffee?

The booking covers the host's time. Most people buy their own drinks, which keeps things simple.

What do we talk about?

Whatever you like: the city, work, books, travel. Hosts list their interests on their activities, so you can pick someone you'll click with.

How does booking work?

Pick an activity, then choose a day up to 7 days ahead, a start time and a length from 1 to 4 hours. You and the host both agree to the house rules, and the host has 24 hours to accept. On the day, you meet at the public place in your booking and swap PINs to start.

Is Kinspeople a dating app?

No. Kinspeople is for friendly, platonic plans: you meet a local at a public place for something you both enjoy.

Where do we meet?

At one public place, like a café, library, museum or park. Every booking has a single meeting place, which you see on a map when you request a time. There are no multi-stop plans or rides between places.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the experience you choose and how many hours you book, from 1 to 4. Each experience shows its starting price in Canadian dollars, and hosts currently charge $38 to $39 an hour. You see the exact total before you send a request, and you're only charged after you meet.
