Become a host
Get paid to hang out in Toronto
Host coffee chats, walks, language exchange, board games or museum visits at places you love in Toronto and the GTA. You set the rate and choose when you're free.
How hosting works
Four steps, no paperwork
Step 1
Verify your mobile number
Use a Toronto or GTA mobile number (416, 647, 437, 942, 905, 289, 365 or 742). There's nothing to upload.
Step 2
Add activities with a Google Maps link
Say what you'll do and how long it takes, then link the place on Google Maps, like a café, library, museum or park.
Step 3
We check every activity
Clear public places go live right away. Anything unclear is reviewed by a person on our team, usually within a day.
Step 4
Accept requests and get paid
You set your hourly rate. Guests' cards are held when they request, and you're paid after you meet and both leave feedback.
House rules
The rules you agree to
Guests agree to the same core rules with every request, so everyone knows what to expect.
- Kinspeople is platonic companionship only. No romantic or sexual services, requests or contact.
- Meet only at the public place in the booking. Never at a home, hotel room or private space, and don't move somewhere else.
- Keep every message and payment in the app. Don't share phone numbers, emails, social handles or links.
- Treat each other with respect. Either person can end the kinship at any time and leave.
- Report anything that feels wrong. In an emergency, call 911 first.
- Your activities are things you actually host, described honestly, at a real public place.
- Your photos and name are really you. Your phone number is your own mobile number.
- You're 18 or older, and you're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
FAQ
Hosting questions
How much can I earn?
You set your own hourly rate. Hosts in the GTA currently charge $34 to $42 an hour, for activities of 1 to 4 hours. You're responsible for your own taxes.
What do I need to sign up?
A Toronto or GTA mobile number that can receive texts. Virtual numbers and landlines aren't accepted.
Why a GTA mobile number?
We're opening in the Greater Toronto Area first, and a local mobile number keeps hosts local. You'll be able to host in other cities as we open there.
What kinds of activities can I host?
Friendly plans at busy public places: coffee and chat, walks, language exchange, board games, museums and similar. Each activity is linked to its place on Google Maps.
Is Kinspeople a dating app?
No. Kinspeople is for friendly, platonic plans: you meet a local at a public place for something you both enjoy.
